The Immune System, Your Ticket to the Future

Nothing affects our health and quality of life as much as the immune system. This is one subject whereas no one can say, “I don’t have it” or “it is of no interest to me”.   We all have it and if we expect to live very long we must make some effort to keep the immune system strong and functional.  The fact that it is working, to some degree, is the only reason we are alive today.

Americans, like other world populations have a highly weakened immune system. How can I say we are all a bunch of weaklings ready to succumb to the smallest infection?

All one has to do is to consider the number of people taking drugs, the number of prescriptions per year per person, the statistics on many rampant diseases, and it is obvious the number of healthy people is a very small percent of the population.

The immune system can be weakened by all of the following, alcohol and drug use, Allergies, Chemical exposure, Excessive sugar consumption, Physical, emotional, mental stress, lack of exercise, poor nutrition, improper sleep, regular use of antibiotics, regular use of other prescription drugs, and a single nutrient deficiency.

Virtually every single drug, or off the shelf pain relievers has one of more unwanted side effect that weakens the immune system by blocking critical and vital processes within the body.   Once this happens, it may take years to repair the damage, if ever.

The great influenza epidemic of 1918 killed at least 40 million people worldwide, although some estimates run as high as 100 million. This influenza virus killed 675,000 Americans at a time when the immune system of Americans was stronger than it is today. One must realize that antibiotics do not kill viruses. The immune system is the best tool for neutralizing viral and bacterial infections.

In some areas of Great Britain, the 1918 flu outbreak killed 2 out of 3 people. What about the 1 that did not die?  A very strong immune system kept him alive.

The complexity of the immune system is mind boggling, even to scientist that have studied it for years.  This complex network of glands works around the clock, 7 days per week destroying invaders that can disable any animal on the earth.

These invaders are bacteria, virus, fungus, chemicals, parasites, and tumors. Other toxic substances include chemical and biological warfare agents that enter the body via the nose, mouth, eyes and cell injuries.   Bacteria cannot penetrate a healthy cell.

The antibodies that can be manufactured by the immune system are infinite.

If we provide the raw material for immune system functions, the system will perform flawlessly.   If the immune system has not been damaged by previous illness, organ destruction, organ removal, or some toxic drug has not blocked the chemical processes; the immune system will do the job it was designed to do. We must accept the fact that a large percent of Americans now have damaged immune systems.  If any of the biological warfare threats become a reality, we will see people dropping like flies by the millions.  Again, remember that antibiotics do not kill viruses; only the immune system can do that.  Many bacteria have become antibiotic resistant, and only one or two of the strongest antibiotics have a chance to stop them.  Antibiotics do not discriminate and kill many friendly bacteria.  This in turn weakens the immune system.

What must we do to protect and enhance the immune system?  Many super nutrients and herbs exist that will not only insure day-to-day health but will enhance what little immune system we have left.  However, if one is not willing to take simple, inexpensive, and obvious steps, he certainly will not take the more complex and expensive measures required to build a strong immune system.

A basic, yet complete vitamin and mineral supplement program is the first step.

Modification of eating habits to eliminate the toxic substances produced by cooked food,

While supplying a large percent of the diet from raw foods is a must for step two.

The third step is never to neglect sleep.  Several stages of sleep exist.  Deep sleep is similar to a coma but is reversible.  During the deep sleep cycle all eye movement and brain wave function is diminished to near zero. During deep sleep is when the body does repair and maintenance of the cells. Specific hormone production takes place during deep sleep only.  Over 70 sleep disorders exist, of which many caused by caffeine and drugs.

Others are caused by nutrient deficiencies and glandular failure to produce sufficient melatonin.  Deficiencies of amino acids and essential fatty acids handicap the production of the required melatonin.  Supplements of melatonin and 5-htp (tryptophan can correct some of these problems).

Cooked foods take on new chemical qualities that are disastrous to good health. A kitchen is nothing but a chemical laboratory producing millions of completely new chemical substances that never existed in nature. Cooking will randomly produce millions of different sugar and protein combinations commonly called Maillard molecules. Details on Maillard Molecules

The biochemical structure and nutrient makeup of the food is altered from its original state. Molecules in the food are deranged, degraded, and broken down. Raw Food is the key to good health and a super immune system.

One must maintain a digestion system that is highly efficient or the immune system and health is doomed.   Millions of people are taking anti-acids and other medications that block enzyme production, folic acid, and B12. These foreign chemicals weaken the immune system beyond repair.

A number of herbs can boost the immune system.  These are, andrographis, ashwaganda, astragalus, barberry, black cumin seed, cat’s claw, dong quac, Echinacea, elderberry, garlic, ginsing, goldenseal, green tea, larch, mushrooms, (miatake, shitake, reishi), and tumeric. One must realize that herbs have very strong and specific qualities. Some herbs have properties like drugs and vice versa.  Others must not be taken with certain drugs.  Do your homework.  For a list of these herbs and more information see www.fugitt.com/herbs.htm.

Many exotic hormones and compounds exist that boost the immune function of the body. The list includes, beta glucan, DHEA, MSM, HGH, and Colostrum.  Products exist that are combinations of selected immune system boosters. The cost of these supplments can range from $30.00 up to $100.00 or more for a months supply.

Most people will be wise to use the old reliable method of eating steak, eggs, fish, fresh raw fruit, nuts, and raw vegetables. Supplementing the best foods with selected vitamin, minerals, herbs and special compounds will stack the odds in your favor.

If a major biological attack, flu epidemic, or anthrax epidemic occurs, the drugs needed to save lives will be in short supply.  There simply will not be enough of these in the supply chain. The deciding factor in life or death will be the immune system.
